protrusion from glass
14 July 2016We are looking to have dog door fitted to sliding glass door and need to know how much protrusion from glass externally when fitted as we have 10-12 mm clearance that will still allow the door to slide fully. Also looking for cat door with a max 8mm protrusion
www.vebopet.com.au Response
Thanks for your message and sorry for the delayed reply. It is generally recommended that you have at least 20mm of clearance, but we measured the Pet-tek Dogwalk and it should squeeze through a gap as narrow as 13mm, so you will need to re-measure your door clearance again to confirm. A 8mm clearance is probably too challenging and we have not really seen one that slim. The Transcat has the potential to squeeze through a 8mm gap if you remove the 2-way lock and probably sand down a tiny bit of plastic, but it would be a tight squeeze and DIY involved. Hope this help.
